On the afternoon of December 20, at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, leaders of the Ministry of Health said that the testing process of the first Covid-19 vaccine produced in Vietnam – Nano Covax will go through three stages.

After phase one is safe, a trial injection of 400-600 people will be conducted to determine the optimal injection dose.

The Ministry of Health affirmed that it has created the maximum conditions to shorten the time to carry out the testing stages compared to normal conditions while still ensuring full steps, safety and science.

To date, after 72 hours of vaccination for the first three volunteers, indicators show that the vaccine is safe for humans.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam encouraged one of the first three volunteers to be injected with the Covid-19 vaccine trial produced by Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested that the implementation of Covid-19 vaccine testing phases must continue in the spirit of full compliance with regulations, safety and urgency.

Affirming that Vietnam has had very good results in fighting the epidemic, but the Deputy Prime Minister said that `vaccines are still a story of the future, right now we still have to pay close attention to the epidemic prevention and control measures that have been implemented since then.

The Ministry of Science and Technology was assigned to preside over the Military Medical Academy and the Institute of Biotechnology to develop a project to develop a research center to develop vaccines to prevent emerging diseases, including a safe laboratory.

On the same afternoon, the Deputy Prime Minister visited, encouraged and sent thanks to the first three volunteers to be tested for Covid-19 vaccine produced in Vietnam.

It is expected that on December 21, the Military Medical Academy will continue to test-inject the remaining volunteers participating in phase one.

Previously, on December 17, three volunteers, two men and one woman, aged 18-50, were injected with the first Nano Covax vaccine.
