Since Covid appeared domestically in early 2019, the Government put this disease in group A and declared a state of emergency, implementing anti-epidemic measures.

After three years of the outbreak, life has now `normalized`.

In June, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Covid in Vietnam is no longer a particularly dangerous infectious disease of group A. The Ministry of Health completed a plan for sustainable control of Covid until 2025, ready for conditions to respond to the epidemic.

Thus, Covid no longer meets the criteria for the extremely dangerous group, meaning it is considered a common endemic disease.

The fact that Covid is a common disease has led to many changes in anti-epidemic policies.

Accordingly, Covid-19 disease belongs to group B, the average incubation period is 4 days, the time no new cases are detected is 8 days.

The Ministry of Health believes that reducing the incubation period and not detecting new infections is based on scientific basis, the current epidemic situation and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the Center for Control and Prevention.

According to the 2007 Law on Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, people with group A infectious diseases are treated free of charge.

In the past four years, Vietnam has experienced four Covid epidemics, recording more than 11.6 million cases, ranking 13/231 countries and territories.

Vietnam has injected more than 266.5 million doses of vaccine to prevent the disease.
