At the Far Out event taking place early this morning, Apple introduced four versions of the iPhone 14, three Apple Watch models, including the all-new Watch Ultra version, and the second generation AirPods Pro.

iPhone 14 ‘revived’ the Plus version

iPhone 14 Plus (right) is a completely new version with a 6.7-inch screen as large as the Pro Max version but with the same configuration and features as the regular version.

The standard iPhone 14 does not have too many upgrades compared to the iPhone 13, however Apple attracted attention when it removed the mini version and replaced it with the Plus version with a 6.7-inch screen.

The new iPhone duo have similar configurations using the same Apple A15 chip and rabbit ears screen as the previous generation.

The starting price of iPhone 14 in the US is 799 USD and iPhone 14 Plus is 899 USD.

The iPhone 14 Pro series has a new notched screen design

Unlike previous generations, the two Pro versions have more upgrades in appearance and internal configuration compared to the regular version.

In addition, iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max also use a more powerful processor chip, A16 Bionic, brighter screen, better battery and upgraded rear camera to 48 megapixels instead of 12 megapixels like the current generation.

iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are priced from 999 and 1,099 USD respectively.

Apple ‘forces’ users to switch to eSim

Apple said that iPhone 14 versions sold in the US completely no longer have a physical SIM tray.

There is currently no information for other markets, but in Vietnam, it is likely that the devices will still have a physical SIM tray and also support eSim.

All four iPhone 14 models can send messages and broadcast emergency signals when in areas without mobile signal thanks to satellite connections.

True to rumors, Apple introduced a completely new smartwatch model but called Watch Ultra instead of Watch Pro.

Watch Ultra has superior battery life compared to the regular version, up to 36 hours after each charge.

Watch Series 8 with new temperature sensor

The Watch Series 8 has two new temperature sensors, one on the back and one below the screen designed to track a woman’s ovulation cycle.

Apple also introduced collision detection, which checks to see if the wearer has been in a car accident and provides the option to make an emergency call.

Watch Series 8 costs from 399 USD for GPS version and 499 USD with additional mobile network connection.

Apple Watch SE returns

After two years, Apple introduced the cheapest version of the Apple Watch line.

The product is priced from 249 USD for the GPS version, 299 USD for the version with eSim and will be available from September 16.

Second generation AirPods Pro

In addition to watches and phones, Apple also introduced AirPods Pro 2022 headphones – a product CEO Tim Cook called the `most advanced` AirPods today.

The new AirPods Pro come with an H2 chip that doubles the active noise cancellation ability, according to Apple.

The selling price of the product is 249 USD, available for ordering on September 9 before being released on September 23.

iOS 16 and watchOS 9 will be released on September 12

Nearly a week after the launch of the new iPhone, Apple will begin allowing users to update iOS 16 and watchOS 9, close to the sales milestone of iPhone 14 models. iOS has many changes to the lock screen, including widgets.
