Brighton has never had a player compete in a World Cup final, until the last tournament in Qatar.

Mac Allister was the pillar that helped Argentina win the World Cup on December 18, in Qatar.

In 2012, Barber began working with owner Tony Bloom to establish a new transfer model.

A similar story happened with seven other players participating in the World Cup.

Kaoru Mitoma, the midfielder who created Tanaka’s 2-1 win for Japan against Spain in the group stage, joined Brighton in 2021 from Kawasaki Frontale for just three million USD.

Brighton only spent $15.5 million to buy Leandro Trossard from Genk in 2019. The 28-year-old winger is the club’s best attacking player this season, contributing seven goals and three assists, including a hat-trick.

In 2020, Tariq Lamptey signed with Brighton after being abandoned by Chelsea.

Brighton’s eight World Cup players are all 25 years old or younger, except Trossard.

`I think the important thing is the foundation established by the club,` Coach Potter said when moving to Chelsea.

After the 2022 World Cup, Brighton will likely continue to sell players.

However, Brighton is not worried about relegation.
